R Family Preview {Saint Louis Family Photographer}

Remember my post from a while back
of a handsome young man
whose mom won a donated session
to raise money to bring home baby Norah
who was being adopted by her biological brother’s adopted parents?
(Don’t remember? Click here to see it…)

Well, she’s HOME!
She’s happy!
and she’s beautiful!

We’ve been in the R family’s small group for just over a year.
It was such a blessing to see how God opened a door for them
and then faithfully provided a way for them to bring home
this beautiful little girl!

I was so excited when her mom contacted me to set up a session.
And just as excited when she wanted to set up an URBAN session!
They found some great spots to get their pictures taken
near one of my family’s favorite Saint Louis spots–Gus’ Pretzels!
(If you haven’t been there, GO!)

Norah, it was a pleasure to meet you!
We’re gonna have to hang out again sometime soon
when I can play with you longer!
(and when the mosquitoes aren’t so bad…
I got over 40 bites just on my calves from this session! yikes!)

R family, you guys are awesome, so very photogenic,
and even more blessed!

Congratulations, Confirmands! {Saint Louis Event Photographer}

It’s hard to believe that by the time
I’m finally posting this preview
school has already been going for 2 days.

Summer, where did you go?!

The last few weeks I’ve been busy
catching up from being gone so long…
Working on these pictures,
and getting ready to start my first year of homeschooling
and preparing for my busy season with senior pictures this fall.
Whew!

I was so glad my church asked me to take these pictures.
My husband will be leading a small group of boys
for confirmation this coming year.
It’s been a long time since I’ve worked with middle schoolers…
and taking these pictures makes me excited for what lies ahead!

Congratulations, Faith confirmands of 2010!
Your journey is just beginning…
and we hope to see you on Sunday nights this year for ReFuel!

I also just want to say a special thanks to the parents
for faithfully filling out my model release forms. :)

Wes and Jen’s Wedding

Last weekend I was in a wedding.
But you all know that wasn’t going to stop me
from taking lots of pictures!

Jen and I were roommates our last year of college
and also for six months in China
(I did my student teaching at
Concordia International School Shanghai
…in case you were wondering…)

I am SO happy for Jen that God has
richly blessed her with a man
who loves Jen,
but more importantly,
loves Jesus.

Cole’s Preview {Saint Louis Children’s Photographer}

Well, I’m back from a hot and sticky vacation to Virginia
and back to work. :)

Speaking of hot and sticky, whew!
It was a rough day to be taking pictures…
Thank goodness there was a pool in this equation!

After two reschedules due to sickness and weather,
I was seriously getting bummed when it started pouring
just two hours before my session.
But God is good!
The rains stopped in time,
and although the ground was wet and muddy,
we were still able to get in a great shoot.

Cole is an aspiring photographer.
He had lots of ideas for where to stand,
and even started joining me in looking for great backgrounds.
And he is such a gentleman!
Way to go, family! :)

In addition to being kind, Cole is also pretty funny.
He cleverly caught on to getting lots of Smarties
for his handsome smiles…
and he just couldn’t stop saying,
“Ok. After this one THEN it’s time for swimming…”

Cole DID finally get his swim time in,
and I got lots of great shots of him bravely
jumping in the pool withOUT his water wings!

Cole, thanks for being such a good model yesterday.
I hope you had fun getting your pictures taken,
learning about photography,
jumping in the pool a hundred times,
and seeing some beautiful butterflies! :)

Birth Announcements {Saint Louis Custom Card Designs}

I have always loved the idea of those
fancy announcements
that you just print out on 4x6s
for special occasions.

I loved a lot of the designs I saw online,
but they just weren’t “right” for what I wanted.
So I started creating my own.
Birth announcements.
Birthday invitations.

And then people started asking me
to create custom designs for them too.
Save the Date cards.
Graduation Announcements.
Birth announcements.

So I decided I should make it a part of what I
offer to my clients.
I have a selection of pre-designed digital layouts
that you can purchase and print on your own.
